Methodology
How Sanctions Atlas ingests, reviews, and publishes official sanctions data: the official-source philosophy, the ingestion process, the review process before anything is published, and the update cycle when authorities revise their lists.
Records keep their authority-scoped identity and provenance, so every published field can be traced back to the official source record it came from. Canonical jurisdictions explain how entities listed by several authorities are grouped without losing each authority’s own record.
Imported changes are reviewed before publication rather than being mirrored automatically, and data provenance and quality limits are documented alongside the corpus.
