COD

COD identifies the European Union's restrictive measures concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo, established by Council Regulation (EC) No 1183/2005 of 18 July 2005 with an accompanying Council Decision. Originally implementing United Nations measures against those violating the arms embargo in the DRC conflict, it provides asset freezes and travel bans and was extended in 2016 with the EU's own listings over electoral obstruction, violence and serious human rights violations.
