Executive Order 13846, signed on 6 August 2018 after the United States withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, reimposed the sanctions lifted under that deal. It consolidated and revoked two earlier orders, restoring blocking and correspondent-account measures aimed at Iran's petroleum, petrochemical, banking, shipping and automotive sectors, alongside menu-based sanctions the State Department can apply over significant dealings in Iranian petroleum.
