Sudan

The United Nations Sudan sanctions regime, overseen by the committee established under Security Council resolution 1591 on 29 March 2005 in relation to the conflict in Darfur. It administers a travel ban and asset freeze on parties designated under criteria covering impeding the peace process, threatening stability in Darfur and related violations, together with the arms embargo on actors operating in Darfur first imposed by resolution 1556 (2004).
