SYR

SYR denotes the European Union's restrictive measures in view of the situation in Syria, set out in Council Regulation (EU) No 36/2012 of 18 January 2012, which replaced the first Syria regulation adopted in May 2011. Built around asset freezes and sectoral restrictions with travel bans under the accompanying Council Decision, the framework was substantially eased after the change of government in December 2024, with broad economic measures lifted in 2025.
