The Iran (Sanctions) Regulations 2023

The Iran (Sanctions) Regulations 2023 established a broadened United Kingdom sanctions regime for Iran, made in December 2023 under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 and in force from 14 December 2023. Revoking and replacing the Iran human-rights regulations of 2019, they seek to encourage compliance with international human-rights law and to deter hostile activity toward the UK and its partners, through asset freezes, travel bans, director disqualification and trade restrictions.
